Happy Birthday self! Wooot! (Cue in Taylor Swift’s “22”) Why does time really passed by so fast? I don’t want get old anymore! Lol. If only, right? As they say, life goes on. We just need to make the most out of it and take it as a roller coaster ride journey. And as a tradition here on my blog, I always make sure to publish a birthday post. So here, I made a list of all my life (and random) learnings over the years.

    1. It’s okay to get hurt – in all aspects. We all have feelings, anyway.
    2. You will gain friends, but you will lose some. You know what I mean J
    3. Just because it works for you doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. Deal with our differences.
    4. Not everything planned will work out. Life’s not a game plan! Changes is everywhere.
    5. Insecurities are normal. You just have to see that we’re all unique in our own ways.
    6. But don’t compare yourself to others. You have your own trademark. Take it as your strength.
    7. You can’t please everyone. Whatever we do, people always have their say.
    8. Be with positive and supportive people. There’s no room for negative vibes!
    9. Do what you love. It’s fulfilling!
    10. Don’t be too impulsive! – specially on shopping!! You don’t have to buy something trendy or just cute in stores, invest on pieces that you really need and can be used for a long time.
    11. SAVE.SAVE.SAVE. You need that savings!
    12. Indulge on your favorite food. Carbs and sweets? Who doesn’t love that! But make sure to keep track on a healthy lifestyle.
    13. Smile more. It can change your mood.
    14. Take that ootd and post on Instagram. Show them your inner fashionista!
    15. Don’t let social media take your life. Go offline for a while and you’ll see the real life.
    16. Listen to your favorite music. Feel the vibe/ moment – it can brighten up your day.
    17. Less is more. Being minimalist makes your life easier.
    18. Learn the art of letting go. Fix your closet and sell those things that you will not use anymore – you’ll make money out of it as well.
    19. Miracles do happen. You just have to believe.
    20. Don’t take life too seriously. You’ll experience both happiness and sadness.
    21. You deserve the best!
    22. Growing up is part of your life. As you get older, you’ll realize what matters the most and you’ll be more determined to pursue what you really want.

Blogging has been part of my life, started 4 years ago. It's my channel of telling stories, making memories and sharing my personal life on this platform. I can't believe I'm still into it as years go by. Well, I guess when you're passionate on something, you can't get out of it in your life. This January marks my 4th year in blogging industry. I've been through a lot all these years and I can say that I really became active on my blog for the past 2 years.

I'm thankful that through this oppurtunities came where I met new friends who shares the same passion, discovered my personal style, went on new places whenever I attended events and became closer to my blogging inspirations.

As I went along the way, there were a lot changes as social media (specifically Instagram & YouTube) became a hit specially at this time. Yes I'm an avid Instagrammer and I really enjoy watching videos on YouTube but didn't you notice that the blogging world we're slowly going down. Let's admit it, people nowadays prefer watching vlogs over reading a blog. And in just a click, we can upload our outfit posts on Instagram. No need to read a lot and put all the details just like on the blog. This is the sad reality and right now I can't accept that. Blogging is my first love. Who am I today is because of it. I've learned and grow as I continue exploring my journey as a blogger.

When we had a dinner date with Camille Co, we also talked about this. The tables we're starting to turn for her being in this career. She's starting to prioritize what matters the most in life. It's not a goodbye for her but it's like what will happen someday. I get her point and it's true. I guess it's because the bloggers here are very different from other countries. We're a one man working for everything and we doesn't have our own team unlike them.

I also feel the same. It's like I'm going into my life quarter crisis. I don't know what I really want. I feel like I'm not good enough on anything. I always think that I should become a better blogger; think of ways where I can improve my writing skills and have a better content. These were some phrases that keeps on running my mind. Like even I know blogging is my passion, I always doubt myself.

I don't know what will happen next on the blogging industry but I can say that I will still go on and continue writing. I'll try to publish better contents and definitely will not give up blogging. On this year, I want to focus on my goals. I want to become a better version of myself. I might said that a lot but this is definitely the year I'm starting to prioritize everything that truly matters.

2017 has almost come to an end. That was fast!!! This year has been a lot challenging indeed. So many ups and downs but I still managed to balance everything. It's like walking on a path with different trials on. Hence, I'm thankful that there are people that stood there and guided me all the way.

    5. Bloggers United 13 & 14
My year is not complete without going to BU! It always feels so good to meet my inspirations. And also raiding their closets is plus points!

    6. Staycation with high school friends
Even we have busy scheds, we make sure to spend quality time together. It was also the celebration of my birthday. High school friends will always have a special place in my heart ❤

    7. Tried a short hair cut
And because I always keep my hair long, I've decided to try something new for my hair. Though not that too short but it's the shortest I've ever done!! So happy that it suits me well haha and I want to cut it again, lol.

So that's all my treasured moments for 2017. Forever grateful for all the experiences. Hoping for more memories next year. May we all have a fruitful 2018! Farewell, 2017 ❤

Hey everyone it's a beautiful day 'cause I have an exciting news to all of you! I know you've heard months ago on my instagram account that I'm working on a new blog layout, theme and

    ................................

    *drum rolls*

blog name! Yay finally, I finished everything this past weeks (sorry but my lazy ass in taking charge is on high lol) As they say, change is beautiful! I made this decision because I know it's time for me to grow and upgrade as a blogger. It's really important to have your own identity in this industry.

I'm now launching The Dainty Damsel by Elaine Villapando ❤

It takes a lot of time for me to think of something new and unique blog name. So many ideas popped on my mind. But of course, I just focused on what will represent my blog - having a girly chic personality who loves anything pink!

Dainty, which means delicately small and pretty. I really see myself being simple yet always adds something that updates my entire look. I opt for having a plain outfit but I need to compliment it with accessories that will add style and vice versa.

Damsel, from Old French damoisele and means a young woman or girl. I just looked for another word for women hahaha

And also I changed the website from everythingaboutelaine to elainevillapando.blogspot.com so it can be easily to find.  I think it's much better to have same social media names and website.

As for my blog theme and lay out, you can see that it's just black and white because I want it to be more simple and reader friendy. We all don't want colors that will make our sight harder to read, right?

What do you think of this newly rebranded blog, yay or nay? Let me know your thoughts and comments below! I would love to hear from you! :)

Hey guys! I know I've been MIA on the blog for 2 months (sigh) and sorry about that. It's because life was so toxic lately. You know, personal issues/problems that keeps me away from writing. These past few months brought a lot of challenge in my life. Well, no need to mention what it is; as I said earlier it's something personal. So for you guys to relate, I'll just share my thoughts and learnings based on what I've experienced these days.

    1. Not everything planned happen, sometimes those unplanned will came. This is TRUE! Well I think that's what life really is. So I think we need to accept what changes will happen even if it will make us happy or sad.

    2. Appreciate everything. Take note, even if it's just small things. While I was growing up, I only care for those things that matters to me but recently I realized the importance of everyone/everything - we must learn them/it to value. Sometimes the smallest things has the biggest value; we just tend to ignore it because we're always looking on the big one ;)

    3. Believe in yourself. Although sometimes I can't apply it due to lack of self confidence, I know this will help as only ourselves (except for our family/friends) will be our weapon in life.

    4. Enjoy life. Live in the moment and spend it with the most significant person in our lives. Explore, try new things and learn. :)

And that's it! I hope someone can also relate to me he he. As I always believe that life is like a game; sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. It's just a matter of how you handle every situation.

Finally second semester is over! Thank you Lord for the guidance all throughout this stressful and challenging academic year. So this means that I'm back to blogging. Oh wait, I still have my OJT this summer. But I hope I can manage both. After all, writing will always be my passion and I can't leave it as simple as that.

For this post, I'm featuring my basic uniform on weekends. Specifically, my Saturday outfit in school. It's very a different side of me whenever I dress in school vs what I wear during hangout/events. When I go out with friends and during events or occasions, I always dressed like my blogger self. From head to toe, you'll definitely see the fashionable me. But during school days, I always choose the basic style - it's just like "lazy dressing" lol.

My kind of basic outfit would be like this:

    1. Crop top - It's always comfortable and with this, I get to style myself easily. No need to be late in school! Hahahaha. Oversize shirts is also included on my version of basic ootd. My kind of not so girly self!

    2. High Waist Jeans - To add a little drama, tucked in oversize shirt with high waist pants is my fave combo. For this outfit, the crop top is perfect to paired with in this light blue jeans. Of course, jeans is always the number 1 must have in every girls closet.

    3. Sneakers - Who doesn't love sneakers? Comfort and style in one! Especially this one from Keds :) my everyday choice of footwear! As you know, I'm really into flats person because I can move easily and run on all my errands. I also love wearing sandals and doll shoes that shows my girly self, as always hehe.

And there you have it, my weekend uniform is done! It's very simple that I super love and still stylish for me. Let me know what's yours and share them in the comment section below! Would love to hear if we're the same or what's your style :)

In line with the celebration of my 3rd year in blogging, I made this very personal post to share how blogging entered in my life. It just came unexpectedly and accidentally, I guess a beautiful surprise. Writing has never been a hobby for me since my childhood years but during my junior year in high school I started enjoying essay type exams. And that's only it. I'm not the student who's passionate in writing on a diary. Maybe back then, I hate it.

But life will never be the same as years went by. I was a self confessed social media addict when it became hit. Name it and I have all accounts, lol! It was 2013, when I was browsing outfit photos to peg on one of our school events. I'm typing "fashion outfits" then Google suggested "fashion bloggers" the curiosity in me clicked the suggested one. And the first one I checked was itsparadigma.com of Patricia Prieto. I read her blog,  stalked and followed all her social media accounts and in turn, I discovered the Blogger Besties. From then, I got inspiration from them to dress up and build my own blog.

I started blogging in Tumblr but few months after, I discovered Blogspot and until now it's my blog platform. At first, I don't know what to write. So many questions popping out in my mind. Can I write accordingly? What if people don't like it? Am I really into this? These are few of my hesitations but a little self esteem boost in me. From outfit posts to personal to lifestyle to press release posts, the blogger me enjoys whatever I write. Blogging changed me a lot. It is a way of documenting my personal style and life. I don't have a camera until now, I only use my phone. But it never became a hindrance for me to stop blogging.

Back then, I just consider it as a hobby. Like spending writing on my blog during my free time. It's like an online diary. I don't care if people will read and view it. What I know is it's just a hobby. As years went by, I felt like it's a need for me to update my blog and write blog posts as many as I can. And by that time I think it's when I started loving it. That it became a passion. I never blog because of the perks behind it, but blogging makes me happy without any consideration in return. Though there are times that I'm on blog hiatus because of school, I made a time to create a post even if it's just one blog post. I don't want to missed a chance to share my insights. I know I'm not a pro and until now I'm still learning. From all the bloggers here in the Philippines who brought so much inspiration to me, I really learned I lot through reading their blog plus tips and tricks on fashion and photography.

I am very grateful that the blogging world entered in my life. No words can express how much this passion mean to me. To the people who always believe in me, my family, best friend, friends, readers and to my followers, thank you for hanging up with me all the time. I'm finally on my 3rd year in blogging and it's not possible without the encouragement you gave to pusursue this. Let's continue sharing moment together and I will let you virtually enter in my colorful world through this blog. Happy 3 years, blogger self! xo
